Cookies au chocolat
The fancy French name for chocolate chip cookies. Or, at Eric Keyser, chocolate chunk. Rich chocolate chunks. They're ensuring I'm ready for cookies in NYC. And, when I'm back in Paris, I'll check out the new Eric Keyser on rue Danielle Casanova.

As a child, I would cart down the aisles of my local grocery store, rows of brand name products blurring past. Coasting on the cart as if I was driving a go kart at break neck speeds, I would pretend to drift at every turn, the tiny wheels screeching across the linoleum flooring, leaving excellent tread marks documenting my grocery cart driving prowess. However, any decent grocery cart driver needed his daily sugar fuel.
Whenever I passed the aisle of snack foods, I always begged my mother for some Choco-Pie. At first, she showed her reluctance. I already was quite the pudgy child, weighing over a hundred pounds at a very young age and food bills were already weighing heavy on the folds of my stomach. Even though my stomach boasted folds upon folds only middle aged men with no ambition could rival, the childlike look on my face could not be ignored. My mother bought me a box of Choco-Pie and I enjoyed every bite of that delicious chocolate pastry and soft marshmallow.
Even though I am in much better shape than my delightful chubby days of childhood, I still enjoy Choco-Pie. Its chocolate coating and fluffy breading are perfect with the soft marshmallow. I will never forget the flavor and texture of my first pie because I will eat it throughout my life!
