The season’s first chocolat chaud

I’m neither part of literary elite nor a tourist. But I like a good cup of hot chocolate. As do my friends, Sylvia and Lionel. So when it started pouring on a Saturday afternoon, we were outside just the right spot for a late-day treat: Les Deux Magots.

Located across the street from l’Eglise Saint-Germain-de-Prés, next door to Café Flore, everyone knows this landmark café. But did you know they serve one of the best pitchers of cocoa in town? C’est vrai.

Rich, chocolaty and smooth. Not too hot, not obscenely large. Just the right texture, flavor and size.

Just the right thing to share with friends on a Saturday in Paris.

This is so cute, and hey! It's Sylvia and Lionel from the macaron tasting!! *waves hello* They are such nice people. :)

Okay. I confess. I really, really, really want to go to Les Deux Magots sometime -- for some silly reasons... But I have not, yet (remember: this is the cynical girl who sometimes can't admit she really does indeed like Paris most times ;-) ).

It was really nice for now to travel there vicariously via this post and to see Sylvia and Lionel's friendly faces again.

The hotel we always stay in, is just around the corner on rue Jacob ... the hot chocolate and the coffee are indelibly etched into my taste buds :)
I have so many memories of sitting in the outside area, encased in plastic on a rainy fall day and watching the people on the corner, passing by and the waiters inside.
This stirs all sorts of memories, besides those of lovely chocolate chaud !

ooh!... that looks so very cosy. I've never been to "Les Deux Magots"
only walked past there ~ it sounds as if I should have dropped in for un chocolat chaud. Certainment!
