Fancy new packaging at Jean-Paul Hévin

Is one allowed to have a favorite chocolatier here in Paris? I mean, there are Michel Chadun’s pavés, Jean-Charles Roux’s bourbon truffles and Michel Cluizel’s Single Plantation tablettes. Where to begin?

Moi, I’m a sucker for packaging, so a window like Jean Paul Hevin’s works on me.

After careful consideration—macarons? Tins of chocolate-covered almonds or perles? Boites of bonbons?—I went inside.

Voila, the new packaging. Snazzy silver foil tablettes and bags of bonbons that are good to go.

Tins of truffles and mendiants.

But it’s obviously much more than his slick packaging.

I first bit into a Hévin bouche two years ago, and it was heaven. As are his choco desserts.

Because when it comes to chocolate…

…glorious chocolate…

I think I have to declare Jean Paul Hévin my favorite.

Those chocolate almonds and the ones at the bottom with pistachio and apricot look to die for! Also, who could possibly think of eating one of those macarons. The packaging and display are too perfect to mess with!

The macaron tower is superbe! and perfect in shape. If I passed by that elegant window I would definitely have to go in and buy.

I'm such a sucker - I think it's worth spending a few extra centimes for those tins. A tin of JPH sweets = the price of a cocktail, after all! Great gifts...

I got super fat just *reading* this, hahahaha!

Oh they are so pretty. I love how the macaron cone tower is layered in color up there! Cool!

Ahhh, JPH is my favourite too. It is such a wonder to pop in there when you're in Paris. I've had the occasional parcel delivered at home in Australia, and that is a complete joy.
