A new chocolate boutique for Paris

At Levasseur, they’ve been creating artisanal chocolates in Marais Poitevin, a marshy town on the West Coast of France, for nearly 50 years. But it was only eight days ago that they arrived in Paris. On rue Montorgueil. Three blocks from my apartment. Uh-oh.

I mean, how cute is this place?

And regards! I have so many bonbons and truffles to try…

Those with pistachios, almonds or hazelnuts...

...rum, spices or coffee...

...filled with nougat, caramel, ganache…

...adorned with orange peel or raisins.

I see danger in my future.

I would be there every day. Even if they were not only 3 blocks away. I would have to be locked up to avoid becoming a very large chocolate addict... I want orange peels in rich dark chocolate.. please. Thank you.

Such a pretty little shop and how delectable! right in your neighbourhood. Rue Montorgueil is one of my very favourite streets ~ how very fortunate you are to be living close to there. Did you ever read the book "Almost French" by Sarah Turnbull ~ she was an Australian Journalist who married a French man and lived in this neighbourood ~ she tells of the everyday going on in the street. So of course when in Paris that's where I head to.
Have a lovely week-end

Dianne, I've never heard of that book, but it sounds like a must-read - thank you! I do adore this neighborhood - I love living here.

Candice, I'm with you: love the dark chocolate orange peels. But, man, this place has such a goldmine of bonbons - it's going to take me awhile to get through the flavors!

Tres mignon!
The out-of-townies are coming to Paris to hit it big by being very out-of-townie I guess...
How could you dare go to Paris without reading Sarah Turnbull's book!?
Eeeek
maybe I need to do a story on it again-def one of the best of the
"I landed in Paris & I landed a French guy-now what?" Genre.

That place is adorable. :) I'm actually pretty glad it is *not* near my neighborhood, though. Good luck with that one! ;-)

This too was my favorite little chocolate shop ... sadly, when i was in Paris this last June (2011) in place of the cute little shop was a shoe shop. I was devistated ... i did all my gift shopping there when i was in Paris for business. I am hoping to find that they have another shop somewhere ... any ideas?
